Conversations with artists: Vojo Stanić 2017 year

D.S: Vojo Stanić? 

V.S: Yes. (Meet you)

D.S: Can a young Novi Sad painter honor a coffee painter's legend? 

V.S: Well, I am already honored, but you can join to share the word about art, please sit down. 

D.S: You know I came to Herceg Novi for 20 years, but then I did not know about you, I was younger and my interests were different. And now, after nearly ten years, I was not coming home, but also with the goal of finding and talking to you. At the academy, I found out for you that you exist and I really admire your art. 

V.S: Well it's not terrible that you did not hear about me, I'm not a star (Laughter) Where do you say you're coming? 

DS: From Novi Sad, but not just as a regular tourist, given that one part of me originated from here, my grandfather is born Nikšićanin and he lived here in one time. They say that he was having friends with Lubarda, and maybe they are also moving from there some artistic currents in my life.

 V.S: Novi Sad is beautiful, has a Pannonian Sea! (Laughter). Soldatovic, Lukyan ... my classics. Celic ... he is well in Belgrade. You see Celic succeeded in the abstraction so I never managed to find out if he actually knew or not to draw. (Laughter) 

D.S: Some copy you? You know that? 

V.S: It does not matter, unless they can be seen copying me, if they know well that they agree. Well, they accused me of copying Magrit, but that's irksome ... 

D.S: Are you painting? 

V.S: Less, I do not see. I do not know what it is. And that's actually a real art when you do not think much about how it will turn out, but you let it EXCEPT! 

D.S: Did your home or studio's location help you or break it? 

V.S: And this is idyllic, but it's also dangerous. You can limit yourself to go to the kitsch. It's all beautiful, the sea, the sunrise, the boats ... But that's when you start to paint, then you get lost, the pictures become sweet, sweetness. You have to get out of the idyll, add the imagination and then create a picture. The painter does not become, the academy, the professors, there is nothing to learn, the painter is born! 

D.S: Do you follow the visual scene? 

V.S: It's weaker, but there are a couple of talented young artists. I've almost been with a little boy ... there's one in H.N. I tell him this you painted better than me, but I also drew better than Cezan, paradoxically, but the little did not understand it. (Laughter) 

D.S: How was life lived like a painter? 

V.S: Most beautiful! 

D.S: Especially when it's done, is it?

V.S: It's not important, it's the most important thing to paint for yourself and it fills you up and makes you happy, and success if it comes, comes ... 

D.S: So do you take less pictures? 

V.S: And as far as I know, I have been almost a hundred years old, I've done enough and I painted a wave and lived, you should die. (Laughter)
